PS Plus Game Catalog Pickings Get Slimmer In September 2026 But There’s Still Some Neat Stuff

August was an exceptionally good month for the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, with Helldivers 2 headlining a meaty group of fresh additions to Sony’s subscription service library. September 2026’s offerings are feeling a lot slimmer by comparison, though there’s still some decent stuff to check out this month, including 2025’s retro revival, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. On September 9, PlayStation officially announced the next round of PS Plus Extra and Premium games that will be added to the subscription service’s game catalog. Take note that not all of these games will be available starting today. We’ve added the dates to the list below to help you plan your gaming schedule. Mega Man X Command Mission | PS5, PS4 – September 15 While not quite as strong as Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, another gorgeous 2D comeback of a classic action platformer franchise, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a slick, breezy arcade adventure that’s a no-brainer to check out if you already have PS Plus. You can get through it in a few nights on the couch, even if it loses some of its juice by the end. 3D Zelda-like Dungeons of Hinterberg is also worth a shoutout. It’s a pretty and decently designed mash-up of Persona visual novel and classic, PS2-era dungeon exploration. And you probably already know that Ball x Pit is a gratuitous crowd-pleaser. I’ll be checking out Mega Man X: Command Mission, Capcom’s courageous but rocky attempt at turning its Mega Man successor into a turn-based RPG. I haven’t revisited it since the initial launch on PS2 and GameCube in the mid-aughts, and I’m curious to see if it’s as much of a mess as I remember or easier to appreciate now without being hung up on the drastic shift in genres.
