Two dead after car hits group of pedestrians
The crash happened in White Rose Way, between Carriage Drive and Middle Bank Roundabout
A man has been arrested after two pedestrians were killed when a car crashed into a group of people in Doncaster.
South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to White Rose Way at 11:00 BST on Sunday to reports a black Mitsubishi L200 had hit four pedestrians and then crashed into a black Audi and silver BMW on the opposite carriageway.
Police said officers were working to identify the two people who died at the scene. Four other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.
He had since been released on bail pending further inquiries, police said.
