Great news, cowards: The Witcher 3's most yellow-bellied mod works with the remaster

The Griffin School set is one of the earliest 'proper' (by which I really mean upgradable—a set you could feasibly spend the rest of the game in) armour sets you're likely to come across in The Witcher 3. The treasure hunt quests to unlock all its parts are all relatively low-level, which means you're likely to end up wearing some or all of it even if medium armour isn't generally your jam.
Or maybe you won't. Because one of the things about the Griffin armour, you see, is it gives Geralt a dadbod. Or the appearance of one, anyway: his wiry torso occluded by a jolly and rotund chestpiece. If you're cool (you're cool, right?) then you embrace it. Santa Geralt is coming to town. If not? You install a mod that svelte-ens the armour up a bit. And good news if you're in that latter camp: a popular mod that does just that is already remaster-ready.
In fairness, it doesn't just trim up Geralt's chestpiece. It also fixes or tweaks a number of visual features on the armour, neatening it up a bit. Nevertheless, I suspect the majority of players using it—or something similar—are primarily here for the un-dadbod-ification, and let me be clear: a grand reckoning awaits you in the world to come.

One of Josh's first memories is of playing Quake 2 on the family computer when he was much too young to be doing that, and he's been irreparably game-brained ever since. His writing has been featured in Vice, Fanbyte, and the Financial Times. He'll play pretty much anything, and has written far too much on everything from visual novels to Assassin's Creed. His most profound loves are for CRPGs, immersive sims, and any game whose ambition outstrips its budget. He thinks you're all far too mean about Deus Ex: Invisible War.
