7 Best Prime Day Kindle Deals (2026): Save Up to $150
There’s no better time to shop for Amazon’s e-readers than during one of its own sale events. Prime Day Kindle deals are here, but they aren’t as impactful as they used to be.
That’s because Amazon raised prices on almost all Kindle e-readers back in August, along with other products it makes. Buying during Amazon’s fall Prime Big Deals Day is one of your only chances to avoid paying the new price tag. Not all the deals are huge discounts, but if you’re set on a new Kindle, this is your moment.
It’s also worth noting that Amazon announced new Kindles last week. There’s a new 2026 version of the Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Colorsoft, plus Kids versions of all three. Each has an aluminum version, something Amazon has never offered before. So far, only the Kindle is available now, with the rest of the lineup to come. It’s up to you if you want to wait to see how the new models compare to the old before buying, or snag one of these on-sale models before they eventually disappear.
Check out all the Prime Day Kindle deals below, from the best deals to my favorite models, regardless of price. Also, browse our roundup of the Absolute Best Prime Big Deal Days Deals, plus my full guide to all of Amazon’s on-sale devices and whether the sales are any good.
One of the best discounts on a Kindle is on the Kindle Colorsoft. It’s $100 off, making it just $20 more than my usual recommendation, the Paperwhite, also on sale for $170. For the small splurge, it’s worth buying instead of the Paperwhite. The Colorsoft adds color on top of almost everything else you’d get with a Kindle Paperwhite: a 7-inch screen and an adjustable warm light, plus an auto-adjusting light and wireless charging if you upgrade to the Signature model. It’s also ad-free, while you have to pay extra to skip the ads on a Paperwhite or base Kindle.
New versions of the Colorsoft are coming out as well, including an aluminum-backed Signature version in new colors and an upgraded display. But I don’t expect to see the new versions on sale this year.
Amazon’s Kindle Scribe line doubles as both an e-reader and a digital notebook. The newest third-generation Scribe is good, but not great for the price, especially given that the older model is still around, has most of the features, and retails for only $400. But right now, the Kindle Scribe (3rd Gen) actually costs less than its previous generation for once, making it worth choosing over my old favorite. There are second-hand versions of that second-gen model on sale, though.
There’s a new homepage design, a bigger screen, and new connectivity and AI features compared to the older model. I don’t love the AI features, but I do love that I can connect this device to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, making it a more powerful digital notebook. It also didn’t raise in price in August, so this is a legitimate sale with no price changes inflating it.
Color finally arrived to the Kindle Scribe line last year with the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. It has all the same features and look as the third-generation Scribe, but with a color screen. That addition racks up the price a lot, hitting $630 compared to the $400 to $500 of previous models.
It’s too much, in my opinion, especially to only add color. But if you’re set on color coordinating your notes and highlights, then this is the best time to buy, given the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft has a serious discount right now that makes it much, much more worth the splurge. There’s also no new models planned for the Kindle Scribe line, so you don’t have to worry you’ll want the new model coming out.
