Teenage boy guilty of trying to murder girl, 15, in school
Police were called to Thorpe St Andrew School at 10:24 GMT on the Wednesday of the attack
A teenage boy who had a hatred of women and an "obsessive interest" in killers has been found guilty of the attempted murder of a girl at his school.
The boy dressed in black and wore a face mask before stabbing the 15-year-old victim in the back at Thorpe St Andrew School, near Norwich, in March.
Armed police were called to the school, which went into lockdown, and the attack was caught on CCTV.
The boy, who is 16 and cannot be named for legal reasons, wrote notes about hating women and had an "obsessive and dangerous interest in killers and killing", jurors at King's Lynn Crown Court were told. He will be sentenced on 18 December.
Jurors deliberated for just under four hours before delivering a majority verdict at the end of a trial which began two weeks ago.
The teenager "went to school not to learn, but to kill" while armed with a kitchen knife, the prosecution said.
The school went into lockdown after the attack and there was an armed police response, while the girl was taken to hospital with a minor injury.
A photo taken from within a classroom showed an armed police officer at the scene
CCTV footage captured the moment the girl was stabbed in the back, before her attacker ran off while "pursued by a teacher".
