Apple unveils new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by M6
Alongside a new M6 iMac, Apple has also unveiled a new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by M6. The new M6 MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 and will be available to pre-order tomorrow, October 28.
Apple today announced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6, delivering even more performance, powerful on-device AI capabilities, and faster connectivity for college students, business users, creators, and more. M6 features an advanced 12-core CPU with the world’s fastest CPU core, so everything from productivity tasks to more demanding pro workflows feels incredibly fast and responsive.
The new M6 MacBook Pro offers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity, up from Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 on the previous-generation model. In terms of ports, you get HDMI, MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack. There’s a 12MP Center Stage camera.
Like its predecessor, the new MacBook Pro also offers fast charging support, reaching up to 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes when paired with a compatible higher-wattage USB-C power adapter, such as the 96W Power Adapter.
This is the base model MacBook Pro in Apple’s lineup, replacing the previous model powered by the M5 chip. Apple is also still selling the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models (which rumors say will get a huge upgrade as soon as tomorrow with OLED touchscreens).
The new M6 MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 with 16GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage. It will be available to pre-order tomorrow, October 28, with the first orders arriving on Friday, November 6. It’s available in silver and space black.
