Gabe Newell Takes Break From Sailing $500 Million Yacht To Buy $70 Million Mansion
Video games’ crazy rich uncle has a new purchase to flaunt—a $70 million dollar Florida mansion. The modestly appointed, 20,000 square foot house comes with an outdoor pool, a “wellness wing,” a wine cellar, a dock, a boat lift, and a tunnel that connects the house to the ocean, which might come in handy if anybody shows up looking to redistribute a little bit of wealth. Despite the opulent purchase coming at a time when most Americans are getting financially bruised at the gas pump and the grocery story, this is a rather modest expense for Newell, who recently purchased a $500 million megayacht, the Leviathan, last year.
Sure, Steam Deck prices are going up because you just have to pass costs along to the consumer even when you’re a billion-dollar money-printing machine, and nobody working at Steam seems interested in doing anything about those fetid-ass forums, but hey, congratulations on the new house, Gabe.
