Apple TV has three big new releases coming very soon
Apple TV has the long-awaited Ted Lasso season 4 airing now and it’s proven a huge hit, but there are three more big new releases coming very soon.
Sci-fi fans have plenty of excellent shows to enjoy on Apple TV. And while Severance and Pluribus are common household titles, one fan-favorite series you may have missed is Dark Matter.
The show is based on Blake Crouch’s bestselling novel and stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly.
Dark Matter season 2 premieres Friday, August 28 with its first episode, followed by weekly releases through October 30.
Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels and celebrating the 10th anniversary of its release this year, “Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken. In season one, the series followed Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived.
Apple TV has a packed lineup of new movies coming this fall, most of which will debut first on streaming with no theatrical run.
The first film coming is Mayday, an action-buddy comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh in a twist on the classic spy thriller.
Mayday premieres Friday, September 4 exclusively on Apple TV.
Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh team up in “Mayday,” a genre-bending, action-packed buddy comedy that flips the spy thriller on its head. When hotshot U.S. Navy pilot Lieutenant Troy “Assassin” Kelly (Reynolds) is sent on a top-secret mission into Russian territory at the height of the Cold War, the operation implodes, leaving him stranded behind enemy lines. Discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a gruff ex-KGB agent with a penchant for American culture, Troy thinks he’s toast — but could an unlikely alliance between the two lead to Troy’s rescue and a bond neither saw coming?
One of Apple’s most acclaimed series, Slow Horses, is back soon.
