Home Alone and Schitt's Creek stars pay tribute to late Catherine O'Hara
Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy and Dan Levy delivered a poignant tribute to their late Home Alone and Schitt's Creek co-star Catherine O'Hara, at Monday's Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Culkin remembered her as "our mom", and "like a good mom, she always showed up when I asked her to".
US singer-songwriter Noah Kahan performed Bridge Over Troubled Water during the in memoriam segment on the night, before Jamie Lee Curtis paid an emotional tribute to the late actor and director Rob Reiner.
Heroes and Nashville star Hayden Panettiere, who died last month, was also remembered alongside other stars including Rocky Horror Show's Tim Curry and Dawson's Creek actor James Van Der Beek.
Emmy winner O'Hara, who died in January this year aged 71, was known for playing Culkin's frantic mother in the 1990s film franchise, as well as the eccentric Moira Rose - mum to Murphy and Levy's Alexis and Dan - in Schitt's Creek.
"You remember her as the forgetful mother, right?" said Culkin.
"There are all kinds of words I could use to describe Catherine. She was encouraging. She was warm. She was funny, but the word that I think of is mom... She was, she was my mom. She was our mom."
Referring to the plot of the Home Alone films, he joked: "She may have forgotten me... twice! But we will always remember her."
