Weekend of mixed UK weather with sunshine before showers arrive for some on Sunday
A deep area of low pressure is forecast to approach from the Atlantic next week bringing a spell of windy weather.
This potential storm may also bring heavy rain to places, especially in the west, whilst some places further east could stay dry.
Many drought affected parts of England and Wales - where significant rainfall is still needed - may stay largely dry throughout the next week.
Before the arrival of wind and rain, though, some bursts of warmth will lift temperatures above average, possibly reaching the low-20s Celsius at times in south-east England.
It will be a day of warm sunshine for many on Saturday with rain for some on Sunday
After some unseasonable warmth over the past week, especially in the south, a weak weather front ushered in cooler air to Scotland and Northern Ireland on Friday, whilst warm and humid air stayed put in southern England and south Wales.
Into the weekend it does look as though most places will return to more typically late September conditions, with UK temperatures ranging between roughly 15 to 21C north to south..
