Dispatch Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary With New Game Modes, A Concert, And A Mobile Launch Announcement
It’s been a year since Dispatch blessed us with Malevola and a fairly competent choice-driven superhero management sim. To celebrate the occasion, Ad Hoc Studio is releasing a ton of extras including a big update to the deluxe version of the game, a new mobile release for later this year, merch, and a live concert.
Starting today, players who have the deluxe edition of the game will get a free update that adds two new game modes: commentary and storyboard. The two modes do exactly what you think they do, allowing you to play with cast and crew sharing behind-the-scenes insights, or while viewing the game’s storyboarding materials, or both. The modes are independent of each other but can be run at the same time if you really want to get into the guts of what made this game so great that it sold five million copies. If you only have the standard edition, upgrading to deluxe will cost you $11.
Ad Hoc is also announcing a mobile version of Dispatch that’s set to release on Android and iOS on December 9th. It is a narrative choice / management-sim type game, making it a perfect fit for phones. The first four episodes will be free and you can purchase the full version for $20.
Finally, Ad Hoc is opening the goodie bag, releasing a ton of extra stuff for fans outside of the game itself. There’s an art book, clothing, posters, a physical edition of the digital comic, and a concert featuring artists from the game’s soundtrack including the musical stylings of…*checks notes* Fartbarf. Neat.
