Police question Steve Wright about unsolved cases
Steve Wright, pictured in 2008, admitted to the murder and kidnap of Victoria Hall earlier this year
Serial killer Steve Wright has been questioned about a series of cold cases but is "not currently a suspect" in any of them, the police have told the BBC.
The 68-year-old was jailed for life in 2008 for the murders of five women in Ipswich between October and December 2006.
In February, he was given a further life sentence after pleading guilty to the kidnap and killing of 17-year-old Victoria Hall, from Trimley St Mary, in September 1999.
Suffolk Police said his admissions prompted the force to consider whether Wright may have been involved in other unsolved disappearances or murders.
"Following his sentencing for the murder of Victoria Hall earlier this year, he has been interviewed in prison about other unsolved cases," a spokesperson said.
"In the cases where we have DNA we have sought to use it to eliminate him from inquiries."
Victoria was abducted by Wright during the early hours of 19 September 1999 before her body was discovered days later
Victoria had left the Bandbox nightclub in Felixstowe with her friend at about 01:00 BST in September 1999, and they went their separate ways at about 02:30.
After being reported missing the next day, her body was found five days later in a ditch 25 miles (40km) away in Creeting St Peter.
