Ukraine says bodycam video shows deadly Russian double-tap bombing
In the bodycam footage, Komyshuvakha residents are seen walking amid the rubble after the initial Russian strike before going to the shelter that was hit just minutes later
A bodycam video has been released by Ukraine police they say shows the moments between two powerful Russian bomb strikes that killed at least 40 people at an aid centre and a shelter.
The footage, from a camera on one of the killed police officers, shows residents of the southern village of Kamyshuvakha going to an underground shelter after the first attack on Monday. Soon after a blast is heard and flames are seen as the shelter is hit.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 30 people may still be under the rubble, as a search operation continued for the third day.
Nine gliding bombs, some weighing 3,000kg, hit the village as people had gathered to get humanitarian aid, Ukraine said.
Search efforts are continuing after the Russian bombing completely destroyed the shelter in Kamyshuvakha, leaving a huge crater
The bodycam footage was released by Ukraine's national police on Wednesday.
It shows huge devastation after the first bomb strike on the village in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, as shocked local residents stare at the rubble.
A voice of a military official is then heard on a two-way radio warning police on the ground of more glide bombs being launched towards Kamyshuvakha.
"Quickly [go] to the shelter!" one of the police officers tells local residents, who are seen walking into the shelter - at least two floors underground.
