iPhone 18 Pro’s flagship new color detailed by leaker
Last year iPhone 17 Pro’s Cosmic Orange color proved an instant hit, but rumors indicate it’s being replaced in iPhone 18 Pro by a new burgundy. Here’s what to expect, per a new leak.
Historically, Apple has stuck with very muted colors for its Pro model iPhones. But the company made a big pivot with iPhone 17 Pro. Rather than limiting the device to shades of black and white, Apple launched a flashy Cosmic Orange color that immediately became very popular.
Rumors indicate the company plans a similarly bold direction for iPhone 18 Pro.
But rather than sticking with another orange option, Apple is expected to offer three (maybe four) colors:
Rumors are unclear regarding there being a dark gray/black color this year. But there’s a strong consensus on the other three.
And among them, the dark cherry/burgundy is expected to be the new flagship that’s the focus in Apple’s marketing.
Today in a post on Weibo, leaker Fixed Focus Digital says he’s seen lighter and darker versions of the color surface online. But he believes the correct shade is the darker variant, a purple-red shade that resembles cherry.
Some reporting has called the color just ‘red’ or ‘deep red,’ which is likely why some mockups have a lighter, red-heavy look. But per the leaker, a more purple-tinged cherry is what we’re getting.
