A global study on mortality risk in Asia reports that, since 1990, life expectancy has risen unevenly across 34 Asian countries and territories (GBD 2023 Asia Life Expectancy Collaborators Nature https://doi.org/hccg7t; 2026). Future policies should focus on ensuring that these extra years are spent in good health.
