Peacock is the latest streaming service to increase prices, details here
Another streaming service is getting more expensive. Peacock has raised the prices of all three subscription tiers, with increases of up to $3 per month or $30 per year.
Peacock’s latest increase makes Premium Plus a $20 monthly subscription. However, Apple’s discounted bundles appear to remain unchanged for now.
“These price changes allow Peacock to continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace, and deliver unique content across all genres,” the streamer says.
Under Peacock’s new pricing, the entry-level Select plan now costs $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year, up from $7.99 and $79.99.
Peacock Premium rises from $10.99 to $12.99 per month, while its annual price climbs from $109.99 to $129.99.
Peacock Premium Plus, the mostly ad-free tier that also supports downloads, now costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year. That is up from $16.99 per month and $169.99 per year.
Across the lineup, Peacock Premium gets the largest percentage increase at roughly 18%. The annual plans remain equivalent to paying for about 10 months at the new monthly rates, before any limited-time discounts.
The new prices take effect today, August 18, for new and returning subscribers.
Existing subscribers will start paying more on their first billing date on or after September 17. Current annual plans and active promotions will retain their existing prices until they expire.
Two years ago, Premium moved to $7.99 per month and Premium Plus to $13.99. Peacock has since introduced Select while continuing to push its two main tiers higher. Premium alone has gained another $5 per month in just over two years.
