This new foldables of 2026 are here, and they're battling it out. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold are each solid phones in their own right, but they have standout features that set them apart.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a novel new form factor that just works, while the Google Pixel Pro 11 Fold has durability in its arsenal. But both phones are also known for their photography chops, which is what I recently compared.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has two 50-megapixel sensors for wide and ultrawide photographs. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 10.8 telephoto camera at 5x, and a 10.5-megapixel sensor for ultrawide shots. On paper, it would seem like the Z Fold 8 has the advantage; its lack of a telephoto sensor being the only weakness.
While in Dusseldorf and Cologne, Germany for GamesCom, I put both of these phones through their paces, so here's how things turned out. Note that in all the photos below, the Samsung phone is on the left and the Pixel is on the right.
