One Very Dedicated GTA 6 Fan Has Found The Real-Life Location Of Jason And Lucia’s Apartment
One extremely eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto 6 fan thinks they’ve found the exact real-life location that served as the inspiration for Jason and Lucia’s apartment, which we recently saw for the first time in Rockstar Games’ Official Extended Gameplay reveal. However, I have absolutely no idea how he feasibly could have figured this out, as the building in question was knocked down at some point in 2023.
As spotted by GameRant, said fan goes by the name of prettyboycuh on Instagram. On August 28, roughly 24 hours after we first laid our eyes on Jason and Lucia’s abode, he uploaded this video showcasing their research.
And yeah, that looks exactly like the apartment featured at the 6:20 mark in the Official Extended Gameplay trailer. Same off-pink color, similar parking lot and, just across the road, a near-identical copy of the light-blue Quantum on the Bay Condominium on Bayshore Drive in Miami, Florida.
But, just one quick question: How? What? Seriously, what inspired him to look in this specific location? I only ask because the apartment building no longer exists. As prettyboycuh explains in his video, he had to wade through Google Maps’ historical pictures and travel all the way back in time to 2013 just to find a picture of the now-demolished apartment.
He stated that he got this idea because Rockstar Games “started developing the game” in 2013, which, to be fair, is exactly the type of big-brained thought process I’ve come to expect from Grand Theft Auto fans. I’m honestly not sure whether to be impressed or scared by their dedication.
Now, admittedly, the 1-to-1 comparison does start to break down once you follow the route Jason drives from the apartment and attempt to trace it in Google Maps. It becomes pretty apparent that Rockstar Games has taken some creative liberties with the layout of Miami’s roads, but that’s to be expected considering that they have to squish down the size of the map.
Regardless, I do think prettyboycuh is on the money here. Kind of a shame that fans won’t be able to visit the real-life location themselves now that it no longer exists, but maybe the owners of the giant plot of empty land where it used to reside could take advantage of this somehow. A GTA Land theme park, maybe?
