Apple is launching major new products next week, here’s what’s coming
Apple just introduced HomeView alongside a new Apple TV and HomePod mini, but another product unveiling is already set for next week. Here are the new products expected to launch at Apple’s ‘Pro and tell’ event on October 28, including major updates to MacBook Pro and iPad mini.
Apple has a new MacBook Pro coming next week that’s expected to be the star of the ‘Pro and tell’ event. Rumored features include:
This new model isn’t expected to replace Apple’s current MacBook Pro models, but rather debut as a new, higher-end option. Early rumors suggested it could be called ‘MacBook Ultra,’ but with the event tagline using ‘Pro’ that seems unlikely.
The iPad mini is also expected to get a big update. An OLED display will be one of the tentpole new features, making it the only iPad model to gain OLED besides the iPad Pro.
Apple is reportedly bringing its flagship A20 Pro chip from iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo to the iPad mini. The front-facing camera is also being moved to prioritize landscape use rather than the current portrait orientation.
We’re also expecting improved water resistance and a more powerful speaker system.
The iMac is still running an M4 chip, but a new M6 model is rumored to debut next week.
We’re not expecting many changes with the new iMac, as the M6 chip will be the central upgrade. Like with the M6 Mac mini (currently on sale), the iMac will gain a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, and Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple also has a refreshed slate of color options coming to the M6 iMac too.
In addition to the redesigned MacBook Pro with touchscreen, Apple is expected to launch a new entry-level MacBook Pro with M6 chip that’s only available in a 14-inch model.
