Students wait for GCSE and BTec grades as app launches for 750 schools in England
Pupils in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will receive GCSE, BTecs and other Level 2 results on Thursday, with some grades in England available through an app that is rolling out for the first time.
Schools and colleges will distribute grades in person, but from 11:00 BST pupils at more than 750 schools in England will also be able to see their grades on their phones.
Results this year come as the government in England plans to boost technical education and address a growing number of English and Maths GCSE resits.
Last year, 67.4% of all GCSE entries were graded 4/C or above.

The pass rate for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams in Scotland rose across the board at the start of the month.
And top A-level results increased slightly again last week – with 28.5% of all grades across England, Wales and Northern Ireland marked at A* or A.
Students will get results for BTec Tech Awards, BTec Firsts and BTec Level 2 Technical courses on Thursday, as well as for Cambridge Nationals.
