Apple TV reveals new crime thriller coming soon with major stars
Apple TV just announced a heist-centric thriller series, ‘12 12 12,’ that premieres this fall with stars Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan. Here are the details and first look.
Crime thrillers are one of Apple TV’s top genres, and the company just revealed a new high-profile thriller that’s centered on an international heist.
‘12 12 12’ will premiere Friday, November 13 with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through December 25.
The series stars Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan. Its name is based on the 12 months of planning a heist takes, 12 hours of execution, and the 12-day window to avoid getting caught afterwards.
Here’s the official plot summary, followed by a first-look teaser:
Each episode of “12 12 12” unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist and the 12 days following it. The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Anthony Mackie) and an American career criminal (Jamie Dornan) as they play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich.
If you’re interested in crime thrillers, Apple TV’s fall lineup has a couple other notable series in the genre.
Last Seen premieres in September, focused on a former police officer’s missing daughter who resurfaces after a decade. Then in October, Nocturne stars Liev Schreiber as a homicide detective facing off against a serial killer.
