iOS 27.3 release date: Here’s when to expect new iPhone features
Apple released iOS 27.2 this week with new features for Messages, Siri AI, and Photos, plus an Apple Music rebrand and more. But work on iOS 27.3 is already well underway, here’s when to expect the next big iPhone update.
If you follow Apple closely, the company’s software release patterns quickly become clear.
For example, iOS 27.2 launched this week right around the same time as Apple’s previous releases in years past.
The only difference is that normally we would have expected iOS 27.1 in the last week of October rather than 27.2. But due to Apple making iOS 27.1 exclusive to iPhone Duo, all software releases for the iOS 27 cycle will be off by one number—despite following the same timing as ever.
That means iOS 27.3 is up next, and its release should align with historic patterns for x.2 updates.
iOS 27.3 is expected to arrive in beta within the next few days—Monday, November 2 is likely.
As for the public launch, here’s what past years have shown for comparable x.2 updates:
Based on this pattern, iOS 27.3 is expected to release in mid-December.
Apple always tries to ship its last software update of the year with a little buffer before taking a holiday break. That way if any major issues arise, the company can develop a quick fix and push it out before much of the company takes time off.
As for new iPhone features in iOS 27.3, we’ll know a lot more after the beta arrives. So far though, at a minimum we’re expecting the additional Siri AI languages Apple announced this week, plus the return of the all-new Health app.
