Mahrajan Festival is a 'milestone' for Arabic community
Egyptian singer Lella Fadda says she is "super proud" to be performing at Mahrajan Festival
Some of the biggest Arabic artists in the world are descending on the UK on Saturday - for a "first of its kind" music festival.
Mahrajan Festival is an entirely Arabic music event and fans have been telling BBC Newsbeat they are ready to "enjoy and celebrate" the milestone.
Organised as a collaboration between Live Nation and ABU Recordings, the event has been billed as a platform to "honour Arabic music across all generations".
Egyptian singer Lella Fadda says she's "super excited" to be one of the performers taking to the stage.
Palestinian singer-songwriter Saint Levant is one of the headliners
The all-day outdoor festival is taking place at Crystal Palace Bowl and includes a mix of established artists as well as rising stars.
"I have never performed here before - when I perform abroad most of the people don't know me so they get to know me through the performance which I really love," says Lella.
The artist is vocally trained but says she has always loved rap, which is how she got into it.
"Not everyone knows me at the [festival] because I rap in mostly Egyptian Arabic and it's not for all the diaspora to understand, but I'm so happy to be connecting with everyone."
