Pixel Recorder update brings new Pixel 11 app icon
Following the Journal app last week, Google is rolling out an update to Pixel Recorder that brings the new app icon to older devices.
The Pixel 11 series introduced new icons for first-party Pixel apps. Recorder is no longer the white waveform against a red background that has been used since launch on the Pixel 4 in 2019. It’s now a white background with a red waveform that is less detailed than before. The Quick Settings Tile and media player icons have also been refreshed to match.
Calculator, Camera, Clock, and Weather also saw updates last week, while Journal, My Pixel, Now Playing, and Screenshots already have the latest style.
In terms of functional or visual updates, there aren’t any major ones with this release. Google has tweaked the three-dot overflow menu in recordings. “Edit title” is a bit more prominent, with “Delete” no longer the first action.
Version 4.2.20260709.960184543 of Pixel Recorder is rolling out now via Google Play. It’s not yet widely available.
