Will Apple’s ‘Welcome home’ event be livestreamed? Here’s what we know
Apple has confirmed a special ‘Welcome home’ product launch event is happening next Tuesday, October 13. But it hasn’t yet said whether there will be a keynote video. Here’s what we know.
Apple has been shaking up its typical product launch approaches this year. The MacBook Neo was the first example when it debuted in March with an in-person press “experience” following multiple days of press releases launching other products.
Now Apple’s ‘Welcome home’ launch on October 13 looks set to similarly tread new ground.
Unlike a traditional event, Apple hasn’t yet added ‘Welcome home’ to its Apple Events webpage. And there’s no evidence of a livestream on YouTube or the Apple TV app.
These things could all change in the coming days ahead of the launch. However, currently they indicate there won’t be a keynote video on October 13.
However, Mark Gurman at Bloomberg says a video presentation is coming. In his report about another Apple launch coming October 27, Gurman writes:
Like its smart home event on Oct. 13, the next launch will include an online video presentation and in-person component for the press
So according to Gurman, who accurately reported the October 13 date and its focus on Home products, Apple will have “an online video presentation” next week.
Press are attending a NYC “Apple Experience” that starts at 9:00 a.m. ET. So if there is an announcement video, we’ll likely see it debut online then—much earlier than the typical keynote time.
We’re expecting at least three new products on Tuesday, which you can read about here.
