Semi-pro footballer filmed driving at 191mph
Watch: Videos show Charlton almost crashing while drifting around a roundabout and travelling 191mph on the motorway.
A semi-professional footballer who was filmed driving at 191mph has been jailed.
Connor Charlton, 32, was also involved in a scam where other drivers took penalty points for speeding offences in return for cash, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
The centre forward, who plays for Nostell Miners Welfare FC in the Northern Counties East League, was seen in footage drifting his BMW at a roundabout, almost crashing into a van. A passenger also filmed him driving at 191mph on a motorway.
Charlton, from Hunslet, was sentenced on Wednesday at Leeds Crown Court to four years in jail and banned from driving for four years and seven months.
He had admitted 10 counts of dangerous driving and four offences of perverting the course of justice.
