In the version of this article initially published, due to a figure preparation error, the third and fourth panels in the second row of Extended Data Fig. 6a, depicting stimulation of STING-expressing cells with the control stimulus CMA, contained overlapping regions. Review of the original image data identified the correct image panels and further revealed that the second panel in the same row corresponded to an incorrect time point for this condition. Extended Data Fig. 6a has been updated with the correct image panels, and the quantification shown in Extended Data Fig. 6b has been recalculated accordingly. Despite the recalculation, the results remain unchanged. Due to the age of the article, the figure cannot be updated directly; the corrected Extended Data Fig. 6 is available as Supplementary Information accompanying this amendment.
