Apple Maps launches Detailed City Experience in Austin, Texas
Apple is rolling out its stunning Detailed City Experience in Apple Maps for users in Austin, TX. This marks a robust overhaul of Apple Maps in Austin, similar to what we’ve seen in other markets like San Francisco, Chicago, and London.
The Apple Maps Detailed City Experience revamp adds in-depth details on elevation, buildings, trees, road features, and key city landmarks. In Austin, that includes the Texas Capitol building, Q2 Stadium, the Blanton Museum of Art, the Paramount Theater, and the iconic Congress Avenue Bridge.
The benefits of the Detailed City Experience in Austin also extend to driving and walking navigation. Apple Maps users in Austin will notice improved navigation guidance, more immersive visuals, and additional road markings. This also applies to Apple Maps in CarPlay.
Additionally, ahead of next week’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, Apple is launching a detailed F1 experience for Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Apple has rolled out similar experiences for F1 races around the world this year. This includes detailed circuit maps and 3D landmarks throughout the Circuit of the Americas.
If you’re attending the F1 Grand Prix in person, Apple Maps also shows race-day amenities, navigation, walking directions, and more.
The new Apple Maps features for Austin, TX are rolling out now. You can check them out in the Maps app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Starting this year, Apple TV subscribers can stream all F1 races at no extra charge.
