Watch: Passenger fights off knife attacker with frying pan
CCTV footage played in court has shown the moment a passenger on a train used a frying pan to fight off a man carrying out a knife attack.
Anthony Williams, 33, is accused of attempting to murder 10 train passengers and staff on a Doncaster-to-London train that made an emergency stop in Huntingdon on 1 November last year. He is also accused of trying to kill three people in Peterborough the day before, and then a boy at a railway station in London.
Williams, of Langford Road in Peterborough, denies 14 counts of attempted murder.
The footage shown to jurors at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday also captured passengers barricading themselves inside using bicycles.
At the opening of the case, jurors were told there was no dispute that Williams carried out the attacks, but they must decide whether he intended to kill.
